Publishing Rules

1. Reception of papers and publishing conditions
(a) Ius Dictum publishes original texts, written in Portuguese, Castilian Spanish, French, Italian, German and English, approved by double-blind peer review.
(b) The papers ought to be sent to iusdictum@aafdl.pt in WORD and PDF format.
(c) Data regarding author’s identification as well as metadata will be removed from the papers before submitting them to double-blind peer review.
(d) Intellectual property rights on the published papers will be transferred to the Review.

2. Style guidelines
(a) The texts ought to be identified with the name of the author and respective academic affiliation and accreditation.
(b) The texts ought to contain an abstract in the language they were written and an abstract in one of the other languages mentioned in the previous number.
(c) The citations rule chosen by the author must be followed throughout the whole text.

3. Double-blind peer review
(a) The text’s revision is performed by two specialists who ignore the identity of the author and whose identity is also unknown to the author.
(b) The result of the review is inserted in the chart in the Annex. The reviewer shall conclude “I do not recommend the publication”, “I recommend the publication” or “I recommend the publication under condition”. In this last case, the reviewer shall briefly explain what aspects of the text should the author be invited to improve in order to get the paper published.
(c) The conclusion of the review being “I recommend the publication under condition”, the paper is sent back to the author and a timeline shall be fixed, in order to reformulate the text or to justify the refusal to such invitation. The reformulated text or the justification for refusal are again sent to the reviewers, who shall end the process by concluding “I do not recommend the publication” or “I ecommend the publication”.

4. Communications between the Review and the author
All communications between the Review and the authors shall be done via e-mail. The Review being the recipient, the messages and/or documents shall be sent to: iusdictum@aafdl.pt. The author being the recipient, the messages shall be sent from the e-mail to which the text was submitted to publication.
